Boardwalk Puts Fashion Into Hearts with Walk to Share

Having a heart that shares is a wonderful feeling. And with lifestyle brand Boardwalk, this is their newest endeavour as they mix social entrepreneurship into the fashion world.
Boardwalk recently launched the "Walk To Share" campaign as they introduce Share, a fashion and lifestyle sub-brand that lies at the heart of Boardwalk’s social entrepreneurship advocacy. This is an initiative of the Share Foundation by Boardwalk in partnership with Boardwalk Charity Foundation Incorporated. Share elevates fashion into a social development platform by allocating 25 per cent of each Share item sold for its business starter program. The program works with men and women from economically-challenged communities to help them gain capital and confidence, and enhance their skills and sensibilities to have a fair shot at business success.

The event features the Walk to Share video via a 360 video projector focusing on the “Sharepreneurs”-- Share beneficiaries and future grassroots entrepreneurs who are envisioned to be the flag bearers of a progressive, more socially inclusive Philippines.

Guests can walk around the venue, Green Sun’s The Eye, and discover why it feels great to share. During the walk, guests are invited to do their share by purchasing limited edition Share t-shirts that says “Feels Great”, reflecting how it feels knowing that 25% of what they pay goes to the development of the business starter program.

The show starts with the Share the Story film, a social experiment staged by Share showcasing how uncertain people are when it comes to finding ways to give back to society. The video also underscores Boardwalk’s belief in Share as a way to spark hope among the economically-challenged to fulfil their dreams.

With actress KC Concepcion hosting, the event kicks off with a fashion show featuring celebrities and Share ambassadors Alden Richards, Janine Gutierrez, Matteo Guidicelli, and JC De Vera dressed in fun, colourful and relaxed Share outfits, all stamped with Share’s iconic hand logo.  Designed in colourful variations, the logo is a reminder that every item bought enables buyers to do their share and help future entrepreneurs make their business dreams come true.

Emphasizing that Share is a fashion-forward brand, the Walk to Share event also features Filipino fashion designer Avel Bacudio as the very first Sharecreator. Named as Asia’s most influential designer in 2014, Bacudio showcases his capsule collection Share x Avel, the first of Share’s collaboration series which will also feature co-creations with other Filipino designers in the future.

“It’s an honor to be with people who believe in us and this important program,” Ivan Madera, President of Share, says. “We hope to encourage and inspire more people to do their share.”

Walk to Share concludes with a special performance from singer Angeline Quinto, who serenades the guests as they enjoy cocktails after the fabulous show. Her beautiful rendition of ‘Don’t Stop Believing’, with the Share ambassadors joining in song, captures Share’s belief that the economically-challenged can be released from a life of hardship and can enjoy a life of prosperity.

Boardwalk’s special launch for Share is truly an event that not only highlights the company’s fashion creativity, but also its commitment to do more for society. Find out how you can share your way at http://share.ph
