Ken Chan Releases Self-Titled Album

At first glance, I thought that Ken Chan is one of the leading men in this particular station. Then I suddenly remembered him in one of the Cinemalaya movies this year. And truly, this guy has juggled everything now, for he surprised his fans with a self-titled album showcasing his vocals and as his debut as a singer released by Galaxy Records and  PolyEast Records.

Meeting Ken Chan is like a breath of fresh air. He's polite and just like your boy-next-door. He says that his debut album serves as a gratitude to his supporters for being there throughout his endeavors.

The album includes five revivals, and one original song. It also comes with minus one versions so you can sing along with it.

The album boasts his own version of “Nais Kong Malaman Mo” originally from the iconic Boyfriends which also serves as the carrier single. Other remake songs include Truefaith’s pop original “Dahil Ikaw”,” Ken’s version of “Born For You,”, “Tulog Na” as borrowed from the band Sugarfree, Ogie Alcasid’s dance classic “Sumayaw, Sumunod” will also reflect the actor’s ability to digest different song styles. The album also features the only original song penned by Kiko Salazar titled “Paikot-Ikot”.

"Acting and singing have always gone hand in hand for me," explains Ken, who says his love of music started even since he was a kid. Teaming up with PolyEast Records, Ken, whose musical influences include Martin Nievera, Ric Segreto, Gary V., says his aim is to give back to his fans through music. "This is my way of thanking my supporters and offer them songs they love singing to," he says.

As GMA artist and now a singer, Ken has received a lot of praise for his acting abilities over the years, particularly for his role as “Ryan Ledesma” in Rhodora X. Ken is also a regular host of the late night show, “Walang Tulugan with Master Showman” also shown on GMA 7.  He recently released an indie film for Cinemalaya titled “1st ko si 3rd”  and received German Moreno Youth Achievement award at FAMAS 2014.

Ken Chan’s self-titled album is now available in all record bars nationwide. Also available in digital format through iTunes.com and spinnr.ph released by Galaxy Records and PolyEast Records.
