Freeway x Celerio NACS Fall 2012 Line

The Freeway X Celerio Launch was a huge success
Music is part of every Filipino’s life. For so many years, we have embraced music as a culture that inspires us in our everyday lives. In this year’s Freeway National Artists Collectors’ Series Fall 2012, the company that pays tribute to Pinoy Artists, now honors Mr. Levi Celerio as the first National Artist for Music, in their collection.

Music
Now on its 7th installment, Freeway X Celerio was launched last June 4 at The Row, Glorietta 5. Fashion and music enthusiasts, together with the media and bloggers, even the family and friend of Levi Celerio gathered to celebrate the life and works of the Filipino music prodigy.

The dazzling Giselle Toengi
The event was hosted by Freeway poster girl, Giselle Toengi and the life, the beautiful journey and passion of Levi Celerio was presented to us all. It was very moving because it revealed how simple, yet interesting, his life was. Manong Levi, as he was called by fellow artists, had his ups and downs in the music industry. But his determination led him to the success that he was rooting for. He made history by being featured in the Guiness Book of World Records as the only person able to make music using a leaf. He can also make his violin sound like a siren or a puppy. That’s sheer talent indeed!

Ms. Pilita's voice is still beautiful as ever
As a treat, we were serenaded by Asia’s Queen of Songs, Ms. Pilita Corrales. She rendered a spectacle musical performance of Levi Celerio’s popular songs like Sa Ugoy ng Duyan, Saan Ka Man Naroroon, Ikaw ang Mahal Ko, Ang Daigdig Ko’y Ikaw, Ang Pipit and O Maliwanag na Buwan and many more.

A cute harmonica necklace! :)
The program also includes Dr. Antonio Hila, Cultural Historian and a Music Critic from the University of Santo Tomas, who shared interesting talks and trivia about Celerio and his dedication and intense love for music. Manong Levi’s family was also introduced and we discovered more of his personal side. As a treat, we all took home a cute Freeway x Celerio memorabilia – a limited edition Miniature Harmonica Levi Celerio necklace that actually works! It was a memorable night of music and history and Freeway made it all possible.

As we are now on the month where the Philippine Independence Day falls, it is great to commemorate freedom, in style. Their National Artist Collection Series for Music: Levi Celerio, features beautiful modern tailored dresses, sublimation print graphic tees, woven tops in chiffons and poplins, sexy printed knit mini dresses and accessories printed with words and lyrics from some of his most famous works. I find this collection to be very chic and it absolutely portrays my love for music, while it symbolizes Filipino pride.

And more of them here :)
Freeway encourage you not just sing his songs, but wear them! You can check out the nearest Freeway store to see this stellar collection.
