Bloggerfest 2011 A Smashing Success!

Last year, Blogger Fiesta was held at the Bonifacio High Street and was attended by bloggers from Manila. Since it was indeed joined by most number of bloggers, a repeat (and even better) BLOGGERSFEST 2011 was born. And I am proud to be one of the attendees of this shindig.

BloggersFest 2011 was held last April 16 at the Thunderbird Resort, Binangonan Rizal. Two Hundred plus bloggers signed up and filled the Events Center to witness the "Extraordinary Online Video Contest Awarding & to attend the much awaited BloggersFest.

After the awarding, a series of resource speakers shared their knowledge about blogging and all there is to know about the business of blogs. They are as follows:

Azrael Coladilla of Azrael's Merryland Blog
"Blogging 101"

Micaela Rodriguez of Micamyx.com
"Sharing your story through personal blogging"

Jonel Uy of Blogger Manila
"Blogging and Writing with SEO in mind"

Fitz Villafuerte of Ready to be Rich.com
"How To Write Awesome Blog Posts"

Antonio Carranza JR of PusangKalye.net
"Photo Blogging Essentials"

Arvin Ello of Vintersections.com
"Beating Writer's Block and The Importance of Revision"

JP De Leon of Kampeon ng Pagibig.co
"Domain and DNS Management for your blogs"

Marlon Guzman of Solid Hosting
"How to Secure your Blog from Hacking"

As an added treat, the bloggers picked one workshop series to attend to, one they wanted to concentrate with. I chose to participate with Azrael's Blog Coverage, combined with Justin's (www.justinbreathes.com) Music Blogging workshop. After their talk, Indios, an indie band, was interviewed by the bloggers (ala Press Conference) regarding their upcoming album and even serenaded us with their original covers.

And what better way to end BloggersFest than winning a raffle! I got a solidhosting.ph web hosting for a year. Yay!

The whole day was tiring (Especially to Kits because the photographers made them walk to the resort area) but it was definitely a worthwhile experience. I got to learn from fellow bloggers, visit Thunderbirds Resort, and even made new friends. Kudos to Azrael for making BloggersFest a successful event.

Till the next BloggersFest everyone! :D

  1. The only bloggers event attended was Wordcamp in Davao participants were smaller since it's just a side event of the original Wordcamp Philppines. I'm really looking forward to attend and meet at least a half of those 200+ bloggers.

    Keep it up!
