Bondi&Bourke Opens Its Second Branch at BGC

The second Bondi&Bourke branch finally opens at Forbes Town Center, Bonifacio Global City and we had the first dibs to this trendy restaurant. Last Tuesday, July 19, multi-awarded chef and owner, Wade Watson welcomed us to this 106-seater space and the new home to his sumptuous creations.

A stretch for food establishments, the new Bondi&Bourke at Burgos Circle is a refreshing place to be. This two-storey restaurant is perfect for brunch or dinner, with its intimate setting, yet a bigger dining area. For late night affairs, the bar is perfect to cap the night off. You can also opt for an alfresco dining, as they have seats outside the restaurant.

Chef Wade
Meeting Chef Wade Watson is a privilege I couldn't miss. He has cooked around the world, with postings in Canada and Australia, and as Executive Chef to the famed Lan Kwai Fong group in Hong Kong. He was previously the Executive Chef of the Abaca Boutique Resort in Cebu. Chef Wade credits the atmosphere, service, and hard work to the restaurant’s success.

Prawn Cocktail
Bourke Cooler
“We are focused on good food. It’s basically dishes you want to come home to after a day’s work,” he says. “There is no magic to it, really. It’s just simple food in a relaxed atmosphere, and having a team of dedicated, hardworking staff.”

Mini Pies and Sausage Rolls
Kebab
Chef Wade is very hands-on with Bondi&Bourke. His comfort food are a rave to many. During the opening, he served Foie Gras Brochettes, Prawn Cocktail, Mini Pies, Sausage Rolls and Fish and Chips for appetizers and we keep on asking for more. I personally loved the prawn cocktails and sausage rolls, that I could not wait for the main event.

Mushroom Salad
For lunch, we had the Warm Mushroom Salad and Roasted Prime Rib-Eye with Sides. All servings are in good size portions that are perfect for sharing. Their steak is just as sumptuous and prepared well. Even their drinks are very refreshing. I had the Bourke Cooler and it seemed like a party with all the ingredients in it.

Prime Rib Eye
Bondi&Bourke boasts a collection of imported meats and seafood, offering choices of U.S., Australian, and Creekstone Prime rib-eye steaks, Australian lamb chops, and snapper fillets accompanied by delicious side dishes. For those who cannot decide on the meat, try the best-selling Mussel and Oyster selections: Spicy Red Thai Curry, Moules Mariniere, Kilpatrick, Mornay, and Fresh-Shucked with mignonette.

Australian Burger "With The Lot"
When dining at Bondi&Bourke, you can also try burger the Australian way --- “With The Lot” as it is coined, stacked with a layer of U.S. prime ground beef, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, tomato, and slices of beetroot topped with fried egg.

Sticky Toffee Pudding
For dessert, the Sticky Toffee Pudding is a crowd favorite as well as the land down under’s signature creation, the Lamington (available flavors are chocolate, strawberry and pandan).

I think, this is the first time I tried Australian food, and I'm sure to be coming back for more. Bondi&Bourke is located at Forbes Town Center, Burgos Circle, Fort Bonifacio and opens at Monday-Friday, 10:00AM to10:00PM and Saturday & Sunday, 8:00AM to 11:00PM.
