Wine, Dine and Chill at The Wine Bar

Specific wines, special food. Selecting the best wine for your meal is a must. I remember one Gilmore Girls episode when Chef Sookie St. James was given an okay review for her famous risotto. And bear in mind that the risotto was her specialty. She was racking her brain for what could have been wrong, and finally, she found out that the food reviewer was given a wine that completely sets her risotto's taste. Good thing that at the Wine Bar at the 1771 El Pueblo, Sookie wouldn't have a problem serving her famous dish, because this restaurant does not only caters to foodies and wine lovers, but also to those who aim to understand the art of wine pairing.

Before I show you what we learned from Wine Bar's  in-house sommelier Cecille Mauricio, let me tell you that this restaurant is located in the heart of Ortigas. It is a place where you can spend an intimate and classy dinner. Inspired from the sophisticated bars of Soho, New York, this sleek venue is perfect for get-togethers since they also have private rooms and a Wine Cellar housing over 300 top quality wine choices from all over the world. It can also accommodate up to 120 persons, and also offers a smaller private room good for 6 to 25 persons. With a space like this, it can already be compared of those in posh hotels and function rooms minus the fuss of having so many people around.

So now, here are the wines and the sumptuous food that the Wine Bar has to offer:

White wine is best for:
Oyster Rockefeller (Php550)
Brick Pizza
Holy Cow Pizza (with Kesong Puti and Arugula Php400)
While the Rosado Wine is for meat and vegetables like:
Wine Burger Bar (Php410)
Buffalo Wings
Pinot Noir are wines from France and best for seafood and pasta dishes
Spaghetti with sardines and capers (Php720/ good for 6)
Ximenez Wine is a very sweet wine for desserts.

Elegant, intimate and classy, these and more defines the Wine Bar. With its chart-topping wines and feel-good menu, Wine Bar is the your best bet to cap the work week and just unwind with your family and friends.
