Definitely my latest addiction

I've been hooked with The Tudors lately because of Karch. At first, I thought it was boring and educational but it really is interesting to watch. The story has so many cast of characters but everyone made a great impact on the series.

King Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) is high and mighty

The Tudors revolve around the lives of King Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and Catherine of Aragon. King Henry married Catherine, wife of his deceased brother, Arthur, from which he replaced the throne. But when Henry met Lady Anne Boleyn, he made it sure to dissolute his marriage with Catherine because he loves Lady Anne so much. Anne on the other hand, did not give herself to Henry unless she is sure that he will end his previous marriage.

Honestly, I find Henry quite a romantic. Although his ways are quite conniving and unfair for Queen Catherine, I still believe in the power of their love. I mean, why force a marriage when there aren't any feelings anymore? What if that someone was forced into something he didn't want in the first place? He screwed up, but its always up to a person to make things right again, with the right person, at the right time.

Catherine on the other hand, really should have given up the crown in the first place. Her hunger for power and pride ate her up and destroyed her into pieces. And you know what happens when people are far more superior than their PRIDE and GREED? They end up miserable and the Superior Being called God gives what is due to them.

Lady Anne was loved because she loved with all her heart. She may be a manipulative little bitch, but she definitely knows what she wants. To heck with everyone! She loves Henry. Maybe at first she's just obeying her father's wishes, but her heart definitely belonged to the King of England.

And you know what, I don't know a single game of chess, but I definitely know that the Queen will do everything to protect her King. And that is why Anne deserved her crown. :) Thinking of it, there are still manipulative and greedy kings and queens in our modern world. Take Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl) as an example. She's so into ruling the Upper East Side by her wretched ways, but if you look at her doe-eyed persona, you just couldn't bear hate her. I have that feeling with Anne Boleyn. Or maybe its just that I can relate with the two.

I'm still watching the Season 1 and I so can't wait to finish the series. Eventhough Ive already seen "The Other Boleyn Girl", The Tudors is a rave, even if I think I know the story by heart.

Time really flies so fast. Its already the fourth season of Gossip Girl, and so much has happened for the past year. Its going to be the anniversary of the typhoon that changed the Philippines so much, and one year has passed since the mind blowing heartache called my past.

Fast forward to present day, I couldn't be more happier now. Maybe God has planned a lot of things for me so that I would be able to grow. That I would be able to understand. And that a heartache was supposed to happen so I could finally meet the person who is really worthy of my time and love.

I WAS just like BLAIR WALDORF. But as she said to Chuck Bass, it takes even more than him to destroy her. When I thought I was shattered to pieces, Jeff made me understand that I loved with all my heart, and it was a process that everyone has to undergo. That being stupid makes you even stronger in the end. And hurting means having to face rainbows after the storm. And c'mon, you've got to admit, it was something in the end. :D I got the chance to meet him, get swayed off my feet, pampered almost every single day, his parents love me and everyone wants us to be together. I was looking for a fairy tale and it finally came true.

It’s a Supa-Supa Saturday at the Supafest 2010

Four Artists and more than four hours of non-stop excitement took place at the MOA Concert grounds last September 18 during the SUPAFEST 2010. Thanks to Magic 89.9, I got the chance to witness the hype of the concert with boyfriend.

The event started with performances from Young JV, local RnB artist.

First up the stage was Sean Kingston, who performed Take You There, Fire Burning, Beautiful Girls and more of his other songs from his new album. He was then followed by Kelly Rowland, doing an intro of her hit song, Dilemma. The crowd was joining her as she sing “I love you and I need you, MANILA, I love you, I do, need you”. Rowland also performed Destiny’s Child hits such as Survivor, Independent Women and Emotions. Then everyone went wild when she sang her new single “Commander” and ended her performance with a rendition of “Clocks” by Coldplay.

After a short break, T-Pain wowed his viewers by singing The Good Life, Drop It, etc. And it felt good going back to 2009 as he sang “Bartender”.

Last, but definitely not the least, Flo-Rida set the stage on mayhem as he did his first song, “In the Ayer”. The crowd went wild again as he sang Low, Right Round, Sugar and Elevator. It was indeed a special day for him too, as he was celebrating his birthday that day. When we thought the show was getting boring, he hyped the crowd again by singing “Club Cant Handle Me”, his newest and probably his most popular song this season.

Florida’s treat to his viewers are performances from Git Fresh, artists of “Booty Music” and Lil Brianna, strutting her stuff with “Walk Like a Diva”.

Supafest 2010 was supa, supa, fabulous indeed. It was exciting, the stage was jam-packed and the crowd went home singing the songs that were performed by the four artists. It was a special night indeed. I’m so glad I got to experience it.

Here’s to more concerts this year! Hope I’d end 2010 with a blast!

Tagaytay, We Saw Each Other Again...

One year ago, I hated Tagaytay.

Our First "just the two of us" Trip

One year ago, I avoided anything about it. Guess love's more powerful now. :)

Last Friday, By and I went to Tagaytay to spend the holiday off. When I thought it wouldn't push through, (considering Kara and I got home so late because of the Bachelor Bash while he was scolding me, driving on the way from Eastwood), he woke me up at 8AM to tell me that were still going, no matter what.

Had a solid two hour drive from Manila to Tagaytay and headed to Carlos Pizza for brunch. We tried their sampler plates because I was craving for pasta that time. We were supposed to meet Ate Judith and her boyfriend, but our schedule didn't permit us to do so.

We then headed to Picnic Grove to hang out, but arriving there, it was a really bad idea. We went to the trail just to exercise and we didn't find a spot to eat my bagful of junk foods. I wanted to try the zip lines but he wanted something solid and I didn't want to go by myself. But should you need to ask, Zipline rides cost P100 on a one-way ride and P200 on a two-way ride on weekdays, P200 for one-way, while P300 on two-way during weekends.

But the real reason why we decided to go to Tagaytay is because of the little store where I found heaven on Earth - Amira's Buco Tart House. Imagine scouring the whole place just to get my fill of their Blueberry and Mango Tarts!

My former boss, Miss Tessa, recommended this place last November when we had our planning at Batulao. By and I looked for the store for an hour then found out that the store was relocated along highway near the SVD Retreat House. I was so frustrated at first because we couldn't seem to find it, but he insisted we go on and look for it some more. Thank God he was patient enough to drive us around Tagaytay.

It was a fun day indeed for the two of us. We were having fun driving that we didn't notice were near Manila already. A timely treat for my "month-long" birthday bash. And I'm so happy I'm spending it with Jeff. Love, love, love everyone! :D

Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash: A Parade of Hunks!

Last Tuesday, I found out that I won two passes for the Cosmo Bachelor Bash this year. And since I haven't attended in one since forever, I dragged my friend Kara, to join me on this season's HOT, HOT, PARTY!

Oooh La, La!

Cosmo Bachelor Bash was held last September 9 at the World Trade Center. There are booths from Caronia, Guess?, Jergen's Lotion, Betadine and Lick at the venue. Kara and I tried the photobooth from Caronia and even got free nail polishes, aside from posing with the Cosmo Hunks. :P

Since we only got regular tickets on hand, we thought that were going to see the ramp from afar, or from the screen. Good thing Kara was game on violating the security to get near the ramp. And boy, that was so fun. We definitely got on our wild side that night! :D

The event was hosted by Joey Mead. Cosmo Hunks who got in the ramp first during the event were Aljur Abrenica, Pinoy Fear Factor boys (Jose Sarasola and Jommy Teotico), Starstruck and Survivor Philippines boys (Ian Batherson, Prince Stefan, Steven Silva, Dion Ignacio, Dex Quindoza, Ahron Villena, Suzuki Sadatsugu, Evric Vijandre, and Marvin Kiefer), Pinoy Big Brother boys (Paul Jake Castillo, Johan Santos, and Hermes Bautista).

Last to don the catwalk was Sam Milby, who looked so uber delish with his powerful abs and more abs, to that. :D

I can't wait to see the Bachelor Bash next year. I just hope they would let everybody see the ramp next time so that viewers can all enjoy the view that we just had.

Have a Winema Weekend at SM North EDSA!

Winema, SM’s newest interactive cinema experience, opened it second spot last Wednesday, September 8 at The Block, Cinema 1 at SM City North EDSA.

Power Catcher

Launched last April 2010 at SM Megamall, Winema turns its viewers into “human joysticks” by waving their arms altogether. They are currently running two games, namely Boink Out and Power Catcher. A motion detecting camera makes it possible to track the movement of the viewers to score throughout the game. But first, you have to say the magic word, “Weeeeeee” to start the game.

Our team won 26 points for each game. And we were so proud to make history as the highest scorer in Winema record. Not bad for first timers right?

My September Lucky Streak

My birthmonth has given me greats I never thought would happen. Last August, I was talking to my friends that I haven’t been to much events yet and there are a lot of things that I wanted to experience before or after I turn 25. Well, things are doing great so far.

Yesterday, I found out that I won two invites to the Cosmo Bachelor Bash, happening tomorrow at the World Trade Center. There’s gonna be boys, boys and a lot of boys in the venue. Something parents and boyfriend would not approve of, but I told them that I’d go with a friend who’s fixing her broken heart. I immediately thought of Kara because I know she needs a lot of distraction she can get during this time. Fortunately for me, Jeff understood and he even volunteered to take me home afterwards. Know what Baby, even if there’s a lot of guys in the event, you would still be the NUMBER ONE COSMO HUNK for me. :P

Its a supa-supa-September!

Last July, I found out that a four-in-one concert will happen in the Philippines. I told boyfriend about it, but he said that he’s not much of a fan of the featured artists. Fortunately for me this morning, as I was checking my Twitter account, Magic 89.9 announced that they will be giving out SUPAFEST 2010 tickets in a few minutes. So I tuned in and tweeted the right answer…in time! So I just won two tickets for September 18 at the Mall of Asia concert grounds featuring T-Pain, Flo-Rida, Kelly Rowland and Sean Kingston.

Oh and just in time for me and my boyfriend’s fifth monthsary. Isn’t it just lucky? An instant date with my favorite guy and my favorite artists.

I can't wait to attend these events. I may be super hectic, but at least I'm super happy! :D

Some Call Him Bad, They Call Him Dad: Despicable Me

"One big unicorn, strong and free, thought he was happy as he could be. Then three little kittens came around and turned his whole life upside down. They made him laugh, they made him cry. He never should have said goodbye. And now he knows he can never part from those three little kittens that changed his heart."-- Gru, Despicable Me

Gru (Steve Carell) is one of the oldest villains in a happy neighborhood. And although he steals things, his attempts doom to fail, successfully at that. So when he wanted to prove the world that he can perform the biggest burglary known to man, that is, STEALING THE MOON, he can never be defeated.

Unfortunately, a new villain rose in the name of Vector (Jason Segel), who stole the Great Pyramid of Giza, became his greatest rival for the "Number One Villain" spot. He swiped Gru's ideas and stole the shrinking machine that Gru will have to use to finally get the moon.

But to plot his revenge, he has to adopt three girls, Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnes (Elsie Fisher), to actually pull off the scheming tricks of Vector. Little did he knew, he was getting attached to the kids and slowly turning into a dad, in his own way.

Will he actually manage to steal the moon and do his fatherly duties at the same time? Watch Despicable Me in 3D and be amazed of the cutesy yet impressive graphics.

I definitely and adorably give five stars to this movie. Although the characters have been conniving on most part, I actually loved Gru and how sensitive he is for the children. I loved how he delivered the line "The physical appearance of the please makes no difference.", when Agnes wanted him to read a bedtime story. And despite his villain ways, he proved to be soft in the end and how he loved them. Steve Carell made him funnier than ever.

My most loved character is Agnes. "It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!!" is stuck inside my head, I don't know how to get it out. It would probably stay for three days tops.

Gru's minions were also very cute. I cant understand a word they're saying, but they give life to the movie nonetheless. Oh and Julie Andrews voiced Gru's mother. I think she loves doing voice-overs nowadays.

I cried at the end of the movie, not because of the 3D glasses, but how it touched me to see Gru finally being a real dad to the kids. Scenes like those make me wish that my Dad could've read me a bedtime story or pull me out of a flying rocket, or blast off a carnival game just to give me a fluffy unicorn.

Bloggers Night a Blast!

Eventhough I already turned 25 last Saturday, I still am a child at heart. So when Az invited his bloggers team to the screening of Despicable Me at the Newport Cinema, Resorts World Manila, I signed up immediately to another 3D extravaganza.

For only P300, you can already get hold of the Newport 3D Cinema where they use the Christie Solaria CP2230 Digital Cinema Projector, the brightest digital cinema projector in the Christie Solaria series. Their 3D Glasses are very comfortable to wear and the seats make you feel at home. Maybe I could invite more friends to check it out since the ambiance of the theater and the interior itself keeps me feel relaxed.

And I'm so ecstatic to be with my blogger friends again. I just hope there could be another event that we could mingle with each other some more. Thanks to Az again and Ms. Tinay of Megaworld for the invites.

Silvery Silver Year

En route to my 25th year, it has been a question of faith. Faith if it will permit my heart to always be happy, faith for my career to flourish, faith that everything I’ve ever wanted will finally materialize. And then there came bliss. So my life, as we know it, changed in a snap of a finger.

As of today, I can proudly say that I am not the same girl, 25 years ago. There are a lot of things that made me stronger, much wiser, and definitely happier. And if I would turn my life around, I would never change a thing. Maybe because the pain and the hurt was worth it, because it led me to where I am now.

To those who took their time to greet and remembered my birthday, my heartfelt thanks to you. Because of you guys, my days are colorful and my life is extraordinary. To my family, I am absolutely nothing without you. I am so happy that I was born into the right one.

Last but definitely not the least, to my Baby, who have been, in four months, turned my life upside down, in a good way. And Ive never been more proud and happy that in you, I found love once again. I really hope that we could spend our forever, together.

September is my most favorite month because it only means that my birthday's coming up again. And although 2009 has given me a rough September, I'm going to make the most out of this one, especially now that I'm celebrating my 25th year! :D

For the past three years, I have attended 3 events that were hosted by the Belle De Jour Power Planner and they were all super swell. I also had the chance to meet the coolest girls, learning from the different topics and take home fabulous goodies.
